Age Limit (as on 31.05.2026):
- Max 35 years for UR candidates
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation
- SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
- PwBD: 10-15 years relaxation (depending on category)
Educational Qualification:
- Mandatory: MBBS from NMC / State Medical Council recognized college
- Preferred: PG Diploma OR MD/MS or equivalent
- Must be registered with NMC / State Medical Council
Experience (as on 31.05.2026):
- MBBS degree holders: Min 5 years as General Practitioner (post-registration)
- PG degree holders: Min 3 years as General Practitioner (post-registration)
- Internship experience will NOT be counted
- Teaching/training experience will NOT be counted
Salary & Benefits:
- MMGS-II Scale: Rs. 64,820-93,960
- NPA @ 20% of Basic Pay
- DA, HRA, CCA, Provident Fund, NPS, LFC, Medical Facility & other perks
- Higher start: 1 increment for PG Diploma, 2 increments for MD/MS
Selection Process:
1. Online Written Test (August 2026)
2. Interview (100 marks)
3. Local Language Proficiency Test (qualifying)
Written Test Pattern (Online):
Section 1 - General Aptitude (Qualifying):
- Test of Reasoning: 15 questions (15 marks)
- Quantitative Aptitude: 15 questions (15 marks)
- English Language: 20 questions (20 marks)
Time: 45 minutes combined
Section 2 - Professional Knowledge (Merit):
- Professional Knowledge (Medical): 50 questions (100 marks)
Time: 45 minutes
- Negative marking applies for wrong answers
Weightage:
- Written Test: 70%
- Interview: 30%
- Final merit based on normalized scores (70:30 weightage)
Local Language Proficiency:
- Must be proficient in specified local language of applied Circle
- Exempt if studied local language as subject in 10th/12th
- Qualifying test conducted before joining; failure = no appointment
Application Fee:
- Gen/EWS/OBC: Rs. 750 (non-refundable)
- SC/ST/PwBD: No fee
- Pay online via Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking
How to Apply:
Apply online at SBI Careers portal, fill all details, upload documents (photo, signature, resume, ID proof, DOB proof, educational certificates, NMC registration, experience certificates, caste/EWS/PwBD certificates if applicable).
Important Notes:
- Apply for ONE Circle only; no inter-circle eligibility
- CIBIL defaulters not eligible for appointment
- No Objection Certificate required for Govt/PSU candidates at interview
- Outstation candidates called for interview get airfare reimbursement up to Rs. 10,000
- Scribe facility for PwBD candidates (40%+ disability)
- Multiple applications: only last valid submission retained
- BMOs not permitted to undertake private practice
