TG TET 2026 Syllabus – Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test
The TG TET 2026 (Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test) is conducted by the Telangana State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) for appointment of teachers for Classes I to VIII. The detailed syllabus and exam pattern are given below.

1. Child Development and Pedagogy (30 Marks)
- Child Development: Concept of Development and its relationship with Learning; Principles of Child Development; Influence of Heredity & Environment; Socialization processes (Piaget, Kohlberg, Vygotsky); Concept of Child-centered and Progressive Education
- Concept of Intelligence: Multi-dimensional Intelligence; Language & Thought; Gender as a social construct; Gender roles, gender-bias and educational practice
- Individual Differences: Concept of Learner – Characteristics of Learner; Understanding children with special needs (CWD); How children think and learn; How and why children 'fail'
- Pedagogy of Child Development: Assessment and Evaluation; Formulating appropriate instructional objectives; Holistic development of learner – CEP, Art integrated education, Sports integrated education
- Learning & Pedagogy: How children learn; Concepts of learning; Basic processes of teaching and learning; Children as problem solvers; Motivation and learning; Cognition and Emotions
- Pedagogical Concerns: Teaching learning process; Inquiry and Constructivist approaches; Levels of teaching (Memory, Understanding, Reflective); Classroom management
2. Language I – Telugu (30 Marks)
- Language Comprehension: Unseen prose passage (300-400 words) – Comprehension and inference, Literary appreciation
- Pedagogy of Language Development:
- Principles of language teaching
- Role of listening and speaking in language learning
- Challenges of teaching in a diverse classroom
- Language skills – Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing (LSRW)
- Role of grammar in learning a language
3. Language II – English (30 Marks)
- Comprehension: Unseen prose passage with questions on comprehension, inference, grammar, and vocabulary
- Pedagogy of Language Development:
- Principles of language teaching
- Role of listening and speaking in language learning
- Language skills – Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing
- Language as communication
4. Mathematics (30 Marks)
- Content: Geometry, Numbers (Natural, Whole, Integers, Fractions, Decimals), Operations, Data Handling, Measurement, Patterns, Ratio and Proportion, Profit/Loss/Simple Interest
- Pedagogy of Mathematics: Nature of Mathematics, Methods of teaching mathematics, Community Mathematics, Evaluation through formal and informal methods, Error analysis
5. Environmental Studies (30 Marks)
- Content: Family and Food, Shelter, Things We Make and Do, Water/Air/Soil Conservation, Living Things, People and Work, Travel, Our Environment
- Pedagogy of Environmental Studies: Concept and scope, Significance, Relation to Science and Social Science, Approach of presenting concepts, CCE, Observation, Project, Disaster management
Paper II – Classes VI to VIII (150 Marks)
For candidates who wish to teach Classes VI to VIII. Candidates choose one of Mathematics & Science or Social Studies.
