SAIL Bokaro Steel Plant GDMO Walk-in Interview 2026 – Jharkhand Group of Mines

Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) – a Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, Govt. of India – invites applications from qualified Doctors (including retired Doctors) to appear in the Walk-in-Interview for engagement of Consultant (Doctors in Medical Discipline) as General Duty Medical Officers (GDMO) for Jharkhand Group of Mines, SAIL. Advt No. BSL/R-C/2026-07, dated 23.07.2026.

The Jharkhand Group of Mines has a total of 175 beds in its Hospitals & OHS located at Kiriburu-Meghahatuburu Iron Ore Mines, Gua Ores Mine & Manoharpur Ore Mine.

Essential Qualification & Remuneration

Candidates must be registered with MCI/NMC/SMC or having valid practitioner license and enrolled in the State Register or National Register (as applicable). Candidates having relevant work experience will be given preference. Essential qualification and work experience, if any, shall be taken into account as on the date of advertisement i.e. 23/07/2026.

Who Can Apply

• Interested & eligible candidates having requisite qualifications can walk-in for interview at the scheduled date, time & venue.
• Ex-employees of SAIL Plants/Units and other PSUs/Govt. can also apply, provided they have not separated by opting for voluntary retirement. The ex-employee doctors will have to provide a self-certificate in this regard.

Age Limit

• 69 years as on date of advertisement i.e. 23/07/2026.
• The consultants to be engaged should be fit to perform his/her duties.

Tenure of Engagement

• Initial tenure of engagement would be for a period of one year or till attaining the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier, which can be further extended for a period of one year at the discretion of the Company.
• Maximum period of engagement under the same contract would not be more than 3 years. However, there will be no bar on re-engagement.
• The tenure of engagement shall be subject to the upper age limit as prescribed above. Performance will be reviewed on an annual basis and tenure can be curtailed or extended, subject to satisfactory performance.

Job Description

To work in various departments of Medical and Health Services (M&HS) as and when required in the Jharkhand Group of Mines, SAIL.

Other Benefits

• Ex-employees of SAIL (up to E-7 grades): allotted company accommodation may be retained during engagement period with rent and other charges.
• Non-SAIL employees engaged as Consultants can be provided Company accommodation (2 BHK or equivalent category) on payment basis, subject to availability.
• No HRA will be admissible.
• Post-paid SIM under CUG including monthly call charges, monthly rental and applicable taxes: MBBS – Rs. 350/- per month.
• Medical benefits as applicable/available for ex-employees will continue for ex-SAIL employees; in other cases medical benefits for self and spouse, only at the unit hospital (no outside referrals).
• Eligible for 10 days leave in a year subject to prior approval.

Selection Process

• Through Walk-in-Interview followed by a medical screening.
• Engagement will start immediately after selection is completed and orders are issued.
• Candidates must download the Application Form (Annexure-I), fill it and submit along with listed supporting documents at the time of Walk-in-Interview. No other mode of application will be accepted.

Walk-in-Interview Details

Documents Required at Walk-in-Interview (Original + 1 set of self-attested photocopies)

• Filled in application format (Annexure-I) with one additional passport size recent colour photograph.
• Pass certificate & mark sheets for educational qualification.
• Experience Certificate (as applicable); for retired employees, service certificate issued by the parent organization.
• Proof of date of birth (Matriculation certificate of recognized Board).
• Valid Registration Certificate issued by any SMC/MCI/NMC (as applicable).
• Photo Identity Proof (Voter ID/ PAN/ Aadhar Card/ Driving License/ Passport).
• OBC (non-creamy layer)/EWS candidates: requisite certificate in prescribed format issued by competent authority on/after 01/04/2026 and valid at the time of Interview.

General Conditions

• Candidate must be an Indian national possessing requisite qualification from an institute recognized by MCI/NMC/SMC (as applicable) and having valid practitioner licence.
• All certificates & documents in support of eligibility will be verified only during Walk-in-Interview; candidates failing to produce them will not be allowed to appear.
• Consultants engaged under this scheme shall be eligible for Maternity leave as per Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 (subject to conditions).
• The contractual engagement can be terminated by giving one months notice by either party; also terminable for poor performance, moral turpitude, conviction, insolvency, loss of licence to practice, grave misconduct, financial irregularity or medical unfitness.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview/selection process.
• The engagement is purely on contractual basis and is not to be construed as giving rise to any right of regular appointment in BSL in any manner whatsoever.
• SAIL, BSL reserves the sole authority to consider the cases as per its rules and the decision of BSL shall be firm & binding.
