PSPCL JE Answer Key 2026 – Junior Engineer (Electrical) Exam 2026

The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has released the answer key for the online examination conducted on 31 July 2026 for the post of Junior Engineer (JE) Electrical against Advt No. CRA 316/26. The answer key was released on 04 August 2026 along with a public notice inviting objections.

Eligibility

• Educational: Full Time Regular 3/4 year Diploma in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering (min. 60% marks) OR B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc Engineering in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering (min. 50% marks) OR AMIE in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering (min. 50% marks) from Institution of Engineers (India), Calcutta
• Punjabi: Must have passed Punjabi of at least Matriculation or equivalent level
• Age: 18 to 37 years as on 01.01.2026 (relaxation for reserved categories as per Punjab Govt rules)
• Domicile: Reservation for reserved categories (including Women Reservation) is applicable for candidates of Punjab Domicile only

Selection Procedure

1. Online Computer-Based Test (CBT): 100 objective MCQs, 2 hours (120 minutes). Topics: Concerned Course (50 Qs), Punjabi Language Knowledge (20 Qs), General Knowledge (10 Qs), Reasoning (10 Qs), General English (10 Qs). Each correct answer carries 1 mark; negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
2. Qualifying Marks: General category – 45%; Reserved categories (EWS, SC, BC, Ex-Serviceman, Freedom Fighter, Sports Person, PwD) – 35%
3. Normalization: Applied if the exam is held in multiple shifts
4. Merit List: Category-wise final merit on normalized exam scores; tie broken by higher age
5. Document Checking for shortlisted candidates
6. Offer of Appointment by the appointing authority

• Probation Period: 3 years or as per instructions issued by Govt. of Punjab. During probation, only 'minimum admissible pay' (Rs.35,400) is paid without Grade Pay, DA, annual increment or other allowances except TA and medical reimbursement.
• Training: Selected candidates may be deputed for training at Technical Training Institute, PSPCL, Patiala or any other institute in India.
• Joining Period: 21 days to join after appointment; failure to join leads to automatic cancellation of the appointment letter.
• Validity of Selection Panel: One year from approval of the 1st selection panel; waiting list ceases after expiry.
• Exam Day: Mobile phones, handbags, purses, electronic items, ornaments etc. are strictly not allowed in the examination complex. Carry the Admit Card printout, Aadhaar Card and one more photo identity proof in original.
• No TA/DA is paid for online test/document checking/counseling.
• Legal Jurisdiction: Disputes subject to Local Courts at Patiala only.
