Educational Qualification

For All Posts: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Technology (Regular / Full Time) in relevant discipline.

• Minimum Aggregate Marks: 70% for UR / OBC-NCL / EWS, 60% for SC / ST / PwBD
• Final Year / Final Semester students may also apply if they meet the aggregate percentage criteria up to the last semester/year
• Part Time / Correspondence / E-learning / Distance Education courses not eligible

• Electrical: Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electrical & Instrumentation, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Engg., Electrical & Power Engg.
• Electronics: Electronics, ECE, E&TC, VLSI Design, Electronics & Control Systems, Communication System Engg.
• Instrumentation: Instrumentation & Control, Instrumentation & Electronics, Applied Electronics & Instrumentation, Electronics & Instrumentation
• Mechanical: Mechanical, Mechanical & Industrial, Mechanical & Production, Mechatronics, Mechanical & Automation
• Computer Science: CS, IT, Software Engg., AI, ML, Cyber Security, Computer Networking and related
• Metallurgy: Metallurgy, Materials & Metallurgy, Metallurgy & Materials Engg., Metallurgy & Materials Technology, Metallurgy & Material Science

Management Trainee – Eligible Branches

Same as Design Trainee for Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science, Metallurgy and additionally:

• Production: Industrial Production Engg., Production Engg., Industrial Engg., Manufacturing Engg., Production & Industrial Engg., Manufacturing Process & Automation Engg., and related
• Civil: Civil Engineering

Age Limit (as on 14.08.2026)

• UR / EWS: Max 28 years
• OBC-NCL: Relaxable by 3 years (max 31 years)
• SC / ST: Relaxable by 5 years (max 33 years)
• PwBD: Relaxable by 10 years (additional relaxation over category relaxation)
• J&K Domiciled (01.01.1980 – 31.12.1989): Relaxable by 5 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Relaxable up to 5 years

Application Fee

• UR / OBC-NCL / EWS: Rs. 500/- (plus applicable taxes & charges)
• SC / ST / PwBD: Nil
• Fee payable online through SBIePAY gateway

Selection Process

1. Online Computer Based Test (All India basis) – 5-6 September 2026
2. Personal Interview at Bengaluru – 21-25 September 2026
3. Final Merit: 85% weightage to Online Test + 15% weightage to Interview
4. Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50% each in Written Test and Interview (relaxation for reserved categories as per rules)

Service Agreement Bond

Selected candidates shall execute a Service Agreement Bond to serve HAL for a period of 5 years (excluding training period).
