About Power Foundation of India

Power Foundation of India (PFI) is a not-for-profit organization promoted by leading power sector CPSUs. It is a society under the aegis of Ministry of Power, Government of India. PFI undertakes policy advocacy, capacity building, research, knowledge dissemination, and sectoral development initiatives for the Indian power sector.

Position: Assistant Manager (Transmission)

Number of Positions: 01
Location: New Delhi
Nature of Appointment: Regular
Compensation: INR 15–20 Lakh per annum
Reporting To: Vertical Head or any officer designated by PFI

Role Purpose

To provide technical support in the areas of power transmission planning, project development, grid modernization, renewable energy integration, transmission policy, regulatory analysis, and sectoral studies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in analysis of power transmission sector developments, emerging technologies, and policy initiatives.
• Support preparation of research papers, policy briefs, technical reports, concept notes, and presentations.
• Review transmission project proposals, DPRs, feasibility reports, and technical documents.
• Undertake studies related to transmission planning, grid expansion, renewable energy evacuation, Green Energy Corridors, and smart grid initiatives.
• Coordinate with Central and State utilities, CPSUs, Regulatory Commissions, CEA, CTU, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor developments relating to transmission regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Assist in organizing workshops, conferences, consultations, and training programmes.
• Support project monitoring and evaluation activities undertaken by PFI.
• Prepare analytical reports and presentations for management and governing bodies.

Essential Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 60% marks.

Desirable Qualification

• M.Tech./ME in Power Systems or Electrical Engineering.
• MBA/PGDM (Power Management/Infrastructure Management).
• Certification or training in Transmission Systems, Grid Operations, or Power System Studies.

Experience

Essential: Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in transmission utilities, Power sector CPSUs, power sector organizations, consulting firms, power sector regulatory bodies, or power sector infrastructure companies.

• EHV Transmission Lines (400 kV/765 kV)
• GIS/AIS Substations
• HVDC Systems
• Grid Planning and Load Flow Studies
• Renewable Energy Integration
• Transmission Project Execution
• Asset Management and O&M
• Power System Protection and SCADA Systems

Technical Competencies

• Knowledge of Indian Electricity Act, Grid Code, and CEA Regulations.
• Understanding of transmission planning methodologies and standards.
• Familiarity with transmission project lifecycle and EPC contracting.
• Knowledge of regulatory and policy framework governing transmission systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office, PowerPoint, and analytical/reporting tools.
