Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, invites online applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the post of Library Trainee purely on a contractual basis. The engagement shall be initially for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension subject to satisfactory performance and functional requirements of the Institute.

Essential Educational Qualifications

• Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA (or First Class as defined by the awarding Institute/University).
• The applicant must have passed MLIS examination in either 2025 or 2026 only.

Desirable Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of IT and IT applications related to libraries.

Note: No Travelling Allowance (TA) / DA shall be paid to candidates for attending the selections.

General Conditions

• The appointment shall be on a purely temporary contractual basis for one year, extendable subject to satisfactory performance.
• The engagement can be terminated at any time with one month's notice from either side.
• No right/claim whatsoever will confer on the selected candidate(s) for employment in IITH by virtue of this temporary engagement.
• Selected Library Trainees are expected to work six days a week (covering any shifts i.e. Morning, Evening, and Night) as per the Institute's requirements.
• Shift duties will be assigned on a rotational basis including Sundays and other public holidays.
• Candidates who have already completed Library Trainee training in any institution are not eligible.
• First Class degree/post-graduate degree means 60% marks or equivalent CGPA. 59.9% should NOT be rounded off to 60%.
• Cut-off date for reckoning upper age limit and qualification is the last date of submission of online application (04-08-2026).
• Medical facilities are limited to OPD with minimal charges. No reimbursement of medical expenses.
• The selected candidate must possess a valid health insurance policy for the engagement period.
• Consolidated remuneration per month shall be subject to statutory deductions.
