Essential Qualifications
- Post Graduate Degree in Public Health / Epidemiology / Population Sciences with three years post-qualification experience in the relevant subject; OR
- Post Graduate Degree in Public Health / Epidemiology / Population Sciences with PhD in the relevant subject.
Desirable Qualifications
- Prior experience in oral cancer / head & neck cancer / NCD research, preferably in screening or early detection programs (evidenced from publications).
- Experience working with Health & Wellness Centres (Ayushman Arogya Mandirs) or Community Health Officers (CHOs).
- Experience in training, capacity building, or IEC/BCC activities.
- Experience in community-based / implementation research, including field coordination & stakeholder engagement.
- Hands-on experience in data collection, management, and analysis using SPSS / STATA / R.
- Familiarity with public-health surveillance systems, program monitoring, and reporting; ability to prepare technical reports, policy briefs, and scientific manuscripts.
Selection Procedure
- Eligible candidates appear for Walk-in interview / written test.
- If more than 30 candidates, a written test may be taken. Qualifying marks: SC/ST – 35%; UR/OBC/EWS – 40%.
- Generally up to top 05 candidates interviewed for this position.
- Final merit based on written test + interview; if no written test (<30 candidates), merit based on interview marks.

- Post is purely temporary; no claim for regular appointment at ICMR-NIHR or continuation in other projects.
- Candidates who rendered service in ICMR Projects/Institutes for more than 3 years are not eligible.
- Candidates already employed must submit NOC from present employer/PI at time of interview.
- No TA/DA for attending walk-in / written test.
- Selected candidate to work at least 1 month, failing which emoluments forfeited.
- Age relaxation as per Central Govt/DoPT/ICMR norms; age reckoned as on date of walk-in/written test.
- No Provident Fund, LTC, Medical benefits for project staff.
- Electronic gadgets (mobile, smart watch, Bluetooth, earphones, etc.) not allowed in examination hall.
